History: The club was formed in 1908 as Brotherhood Engineering Works, the factory team of the local steam turbine manufacturers. For most of its history,it was in the local leagues before becoming Bearings Direct and then Peterborough Sports in 2001. The 1920s produced Victor Watson, who went on to become West Ham's record scorer, with 326 career goals. The Turbines were really only full steam ahead with an extraordinaty four promotions in five seaons under Jimmy Dean from the 2015-16 season, climbing the United Counties League, including a record points total (112) and more than 200 goals scored in all competitions in 2016/17.

Admission prices (2023/24) Prices are adults £16; concessions (over 65) £12, and students and ages 14 to 18 are £8, with under 13s free with an adult.

From Darlington, 165 miles, 2hrs 55 minutes. From the North: Leave the A1, signs for Leicester/Peterborough. Then onto the A47 as far as junction 18, with M&S on the left, take the right turn onto the A15 (Bourges B oulevard). Quickly turn left into Lincoln Road and the ground is on the left.

Peterborough railway station is 1.5 miles (30 minutes walk) north up Bourges Boulevard.

City centre and near the ground:

Charters Town Bride (on the river).
This is a converted Dutch barge situated by the town bridge - two miles from the ground, which was popular on our old trips to the city. Open from 12 noon. Usually about 12 real ales on tap - including a good range from local prize-winning brewery Oakham - and some excellent grub. Also has balcony restaurant & large garden. Winner of many CAMRA awards. Colours not encouraged DAFTS recommended.
