History: The Radcliffe Borough club was formed in 1949 and joined the South East Lancashire league and soon after the Manchester League. They eventually progressed into the North West Counties League. Boro's highest honour before last season was winning the Northern Premier League First Division title in 1996-97, ahead of local rivals Leigh RMI. Past players include Frank Worthington, Alan Kennedy and Peter Barnes. Darlo played Radcliffe twice in 2014, winning both times. The club's stadium - which they moved to in 1970 - got an upgrade and an all weather pitch in the years after 2016, and officially dropped the "Borough" name in 2018. Progress continued and the club reached Conference North for the first time in their history in April 2024. They managed to survive relegation after their first season.
