History: Scarborough Athletic was formed in 2007 by the Seadog Trust out of the ashes of Scarborough FC - a club with a history stretching back to 1879. The phoenix club began in the Northern Counties East League Division One, ground sharing at Bridlington, gaining a first promotion in 2009. Our paths crossed in the Northern Premier Division One North on our own journey up the pyramid when 1,118 fans saw a promotion-chasing Darlington arrive in April 2015. After a few ups and downs in form, Athletic moved back to Scarborough for the 2017-18 season before 2,000 fans in an opening match in the new community stadium. It was to be a promotion-winning season. And then last season, the Seadogs had their best campaign yet - securing promotion via the NPL Premier Division play-offs and winning the North Riding Senior Cup under local boy, ex-Man United and West Brom midfielder Jonathan Greening.
